Our 2019 program is targeting Breast Cancer Awareness in the months of April and October 2019
Introducing the newest member organization to NAHSE Florida’s Advocacy team The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative, Florida Affiliate! The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative is an outreach organization dedicated to connecting at risk women with prevention and early detection to beat breast cancer and heart disease. They provide door-to-door breast health and heart health awareness, education, and referrals to at-risk women.
This spring they will be conducting their outreach campaign in Dania Beach on April (4/13 & 4/20). Volunteer Outreach’s Training will be provided for NAHSE members and friends of NAHSE who would like to participate. Outreach days begin at 8:30am on Saturdays with a light breakfast. Volunteers are then briefly trained and sent out to do outreach for 1 to 1.5 hours. Afterward, volunteers are served lunch and are finished by 12:30pm.
On April 27th NAHSE South Florida will be working in Diana Beach in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Screening with Florida Mobile Mammographyand The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative. At Bethesda Women’s Health Center, we provide proactive care through our Breast Health Navigator, a Registered Nurse, to help patients from diagnosis through treatment. Regardless of where you are in your personal journey, our Breast Health Navigator recognizes that efficient, personalized, and compassionate care is especially important at this critical time. In addition to answering your questions along the way, she will assist you with collaborating with your doctors, treatment team and other resources, allowing you to focus on your top priority--beating breast cancer!

Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCCEDP), formerly known as BCCI. Eligible women can receive breast and cervical cancer screenings at various locations in Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties through the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. Eligibility criteria include women age 50 -64 years with little or no health insurance, who meet income guidelines (at or below 200% of the poverty level) and live in Broward, Palm Beach or Martin County. Women screened and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer through the Florida Department of Health in Broward County FBCCEDP may be eligible to receive treatment services (Medicaid) through the Mary Brogan Treatment Act.
